We need your help cleaning up one of the largest illegal dumpsites in Philadelphia!<\/big><\/p>\n

On Saturday, April 5<\/strong>, the Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) will partner with United by Blue<\/a>, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation<\/a>, The Office of Clean and Green<\/a>, and the Tookany\/Tacony-Frankford Watershed (TTF)<\/a> for The Philly Spring Cleanup<\/strong> at Tacony Creek Park<\/a>, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This partnership of green organizations will come together to help preserve the health and beauty of Tacony Creek Park, located in the lower region of Northeast Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Recently, over 4,000 tires<\/a> were found illegally dumped at Tacony Creek Park. Despite the hard-working efforts of the City\u2019s sanitation workers to clear out the tires, many still remain.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why we\u2019re asking for your help to clean up the remaining illegally dumped debris at Tacony Creek Park!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tacony Creek Park is the only publicly accessible section of Tacony Creek within the Philadelphia portion of the watershed. The woodlands of Tacony Creek Park provide a stable habitat for over 100 species of birds and other wildlife.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s up to us to sustain Tacony Creek Park as it\u2019s meant to be: a beautiful green space open to the public and home to diverse communities.<\/p>\n

Volunteers will promptly meet at the Adams Avenue<\/a> section of Tacony Creek Park at 9:00 a.m. to check in and begin the cleanup.<\/p>\n

After the cleanup, volunteers will have the chance to win sustainable United By Blue merchandise, as well as enjoy free dumplings from the Humpty\u2019s Dumplings Food Truck<\/a>. Additionally, green organizations across Philadelphia will be present to inform volunteers how they can continue to stay involved in making our city cleaner, safer, and greener.<\/p>\n
