Click to learn more &#038; Register: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/1T2AejZtwS\">https:\/\/t.co\/1T2AejZtwS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 10,000 Friends of PA (@10000friends) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/10000friends\/status\/820081310668648448?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 14, 2017<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Philadelphia Water Department is thrilled to receive the <a href=\"http:\/\/10000friends.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania<\/a>&#39;s <strong>Excellence in Public Infrastructure Award<\/strong> in recognition of the success of the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/phillywatersheds.org\/what_were_doing\/documents_and_data\/cso_long_term_control_plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Green City, Clean Waters<\/a><\/em> program.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner <strong>Debra A. McCarty<\/strong> will accept the honor at the <a href=\"http:\/\/10000friends.org\/2016-commonwealth-awards\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2016 Commonwealth Awards<\/a>, an annual fundraiser held for the 10,000 Friends group. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, January 24 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?daddr=1900+Benjamin+Franklin+Parkway,Philadelphia,PA+19103+us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Academy of Natural Sciences<\/a> of Drexel University.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"http:\/\/events.r20.constantcontact.com\/register\/event?oeidk=a07edm54oc030360064&#038;llr=us4c7sbab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RSVP now!<\/a>\u00a0<\/h5>\n<p>A \u201cleading voice for smart growth,\u201d 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania is a non-profit advocacy group representing a \u201cstatewide alliance of organizations and individuals dedicated to creating and protecting healthy, walkable, and thriving communities that are great places to live and work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Drexel University will also be the inaugural recipient of the <strong>Joanne Denworth Founders Award<\/strong>, the highest award given by the statewide nonprofit. Drexel President John A. Fry will accept the honor and deliver keynote remarks.
