Credit: Living Lands and Waters.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.phila.gov\/water\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philadelphia Water<\/a> is sponsoring a big clean up on the Delaware River with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.livinglandsandwaters.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Living Lands and Waters<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/delawareestuary.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Partnership for the Delaware Estuary<\/a>, and we&#39;re still looking for some fresh volunteers out on the water. In the first few clean up days, members of the community who care about the health of the Delaware have already collected <a href=\"https:\/\/instagram.com\/p\/6xlsMVhKZ0\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nearly 10,000 pounds of trash<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>That&#39;s almost five tons of litter and other pollution that would otherwise be hurting wildlife habitats and damaging a major Philadelphia drinking water source.<br \/>\nSo don&#39;t just imagine what we could accomplish with a few more volunteer crews<span style=\"line-height: 115%; font-family: \"Calibri\",\"sans-serif\"; font-size: 11pt; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: \"Times New Roman\"; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA;\">\u2014<\/span>put an exclamation point on the end of your summer and join us!<\/p>\n<p>Clean ups will be held this week and weekend,\u00a0and continue through Tuesday, September 1. Designated work days will include two shifts, one\u00a0from 9 a.m. to noon and one from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. In order to coordinate sites, all volunteers <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/livinglandsandwaters.org\/delawarerivercleanups\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">must RSVP by clicking here<\/a><\/strong><em>(Sorry, this content is no longer available)<\/em>\u00a0and filling out the form a the bottom of the page.
