{"id":66,"date":"2018-06-08T13:54:00","date_gmt":"2018-06-08T17:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/water.phila.gov\/blog\/june-rain-check-workshop-sign-language-interpretation\/"},"modified":"2022-12-03T11:17:58","modified_gmt":"2022-12-03T16:17:58","slug":"june-rain-check-workshop-sign-language-interpretation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/water.phila.gov\/blog\/june-rain-check-workshop-sign-language-interpretation\/","title":{"rendered":"A Rain Check First: Sign Language Services Available at June Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We want every resident to take part in protecting our rivers and creeks, and that&#39;s why we&#39;ve worked with translators to spread the word about free rain barrels and discounted green improvements in languages including Chinese and Spanish.<\/p>\n<p class=\"big\">Saturday, June 23, will mark a big first in our efforts to bring the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwdraincheck.org\/\">Rain Check<\/a> program to more people: ASL interpretation will be available at a Rain Check workshop\u00a0held at the <a href=\"https:\/\/phsonline.org\/programs\/rain-check\/\">Pennsylvania Horticultural Society<\/a> Town Hall in Center City.<\/p>\n<p>Philadelphia residents who are deaf or hard of hearing are invited to join us to learn more about getting a free rain barrel or discounted green tool, like a downspout planter or rain garden.<\/p>\n<p>This event is open to all city residents, and those who attend will be given the chance to sign up and get started.<\/p>\n<div class=\"caption\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"A photo from a past workshop shows a presenter speaking into a microphone, explaining a diagram projected onto a portable screen.
