Submit here \u203a<\/a><\/h5>\n<p>While local, state and federal officials use a variety of tools\u2014from flood gauges submerged in the Schuylkill River to satellites beaming down live weather data\u2014eyewitness, on-the-ground and real-time information<strong> from people like you<\/strong> can greatly enhance what we know about flooding in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p>This effort is part of a partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Weather Service<\/a> aimed at fine-tuning the City\u2019s ability to direct resources during emergency weather and improving the alerts that warn residents about dangerous local conditions.<\/p>\n<h2>What We Want from You<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Photos of \u201criverine\u201d flooding: overflowing creeks, rivers, and local waterways<\/li>\n<li>Photos of \u201csurface\u201d flooding: inundated streets, parking lots, and other public areas<\/li>\n<li>Exact time, date, and location of your flood photos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Learn more about what riverine and surface flooding looks like <a class=\"nowrap\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phila.gov\/water\/PDF\/FloodingGuide.pdf#page=7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on page 7 of our flooding guide<\/a>.<\/h5>\n<h3>Where to Send:<\/h3>\n<p>Use this form to upload your files and enter key details:<\/p>\n<h5><a class=\"btn btn-lg btn-primary white bold\" href=\"https:\/\/phillyh2o.info\/flooding-photos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Submit Flooding Photos \u203a<\/a><\/h5>\n<div class=\"callout small\">\n<h4 class=\"small\"><strong class=\"big darkblue bold\">Note:<\/strong> <span class=\"big unbold darkgray\">It is crucial to include <strong>precise<\/strong> details about <strong>where and when<\/strong> the flooding was recorded.<\/span><\/h4>\n<p class=\"small\">Having that information will tell us what local weather instruments, like rain and flood gauges, were recording at the exact time your photo or video was taken.<\/p>\n<p class=\"small\">During future storms,<strong> your submission<\/strong> will ensure we have better, more localized information we can use to target warnings and deploy emergency response resources.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2>What We Are NOT Looking for Here<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Reports that require emergency assistance<\/li>\n<li>Images of flooded basements and residential properties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 class=\"center nopadding\">To report basement flooding, <strong class=\"big nowrap\">call us at (215) 685-6300<\/strong> <strong class=\"nowrap\">before pumping water out<\/strong> <span class=\"nowrap\">to schedule an inspection.<\/span><\/h5>\n<p class=\"center\">(This will allow us to sample the water and\u00a0offer the\u00a0best\u00a0solution.)<\/p>\n<div class=\"callout orange-bg\">\n<h4 class=\"white\"><strong>Stay Safe.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"black\">It is extremely important to note that residents should never seek out flooded roadways or other areas impacted by floodwaters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bold black\">Never place yourself in a dangerous situation to record flood conditions, and never drive or walk through flooded areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"black\">Heed all warnings from officials, including evacuation orders, and practice the tips for staying safe during and after storms found in the City\u2019s <a class=\"darkblue bold\" href=\"\/\/phillyh2o.info\/flood-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flooding guide<\/a> for residents.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3>We Respect Privacy.<\/h3>\n<p>The primary purpose of collecting this information is to improve safety and services. <strong>We will not make the information you share public without express permission.<\/strong> If you want your submission to be available for use in educational materials, including guides and social media posts from City of Philadelphia department accounts, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/phillyh2o.info\/flooding-photos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">you can indicate that on our form<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>About the Citywide Flood Risk Management Task Force<\/h3>\n<p>The task force was created by the City of Philadelphia in 2014 to encourage collaboration between departments and agencies and to maximize the City\u2019s resources for addressing flooding issues.
