We&#39;ll clean the riverbanks along the <a href=\"https:\/\/gophillygo.org\/place\/64\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Frankford Boat Launch and riverfront trail<\/a>, and record data on the trash that we collect.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Where:<\/strong> 5501 Tacony Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19137<\/li>\n<li><strong>When:<\/strong> Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 9\u00a0a.m.\u201412\u00a0p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A locally-owned clothing outfitter, United By Blue removes one pound of litter from waterways for every item sold at their stores. Together, PWD and United By Blue have removed <em>hundreds of tons of trash<\/em> from local waterways over the last few years.<\/p>\n<div class=\"caption half left\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/4338\/36090492533_74d12a8457_c.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p>After a morning of cleaning our waterways and outdoor recreation areas, volunteers will enjoy <strong>complimentary snacks provided by Luke&#39;s Lobster<\/strong>. We&#39;ll also play cleanup games\u2014<strong>keep an eye out for the weirdest trash you can find<\/strong>\u2014and United By Blue is giving away prizes.<\/p>\n<p>We&#39;ll provide cleanup supplies, water and reusable water bottles, and snacks. You bring sturdy shoes, long pants, <strong>and your friends!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5><a class=\"btn btn-lg btn-primary white bold\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/united-by-blue-delaware-river-cleanup-registration-56132111657\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sign Up to Clean Up!<\/a><\/h5>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Delaware River Fest<\/h2>\n<p>If those options don\u2019t float your boat, check out the <strong>Delaware River Fest<\/strong> (formerly known as Coast Day), a day-long series of events and activities we are helping to sponsor. A big part of the focus is bringing together Penn\u2019s Landing and Wiggins Park in Camden.<\/p>\n<p>There will be boat rides, LEGO-boat building, historic boat tours, a Camden-to-Philly bike ride in morning, and more. Look for PWD\u2019s <a class=\"semibold\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/explore\/tags\/phillywaterbar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philly Water Bar<\/a> and watershed education table. <strong>The event is free and rain-or-shine.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"side-info half right\">\n<h4>Want to Get Out on the Delaware?<\/h4>\n<p>There are <strong>three opportunities<\/strong> to experience a boat trip on this mighty tidal waterway:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rides on both the <strong>Liberty Yacht<\/strong> and <strong>Riverlink Ferry<\/strong> are <em>free<\/em> and available on a first-come, first-served basis. <a class=\"semibold inline-block\" href=\"https:\/\/www.delawareriverfest.org\/boat-tickets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">See Ferry and Cruise Times \u203a<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Tickets for <strong>kayaks, canoes, and swan boats<\/strong> can be found at the Marina ticketing booth (Zone 4 on <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.wixstatic.com\/ugd\/69b62b_3cffd36a5d26430f99a06cf3b8010e99.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Philadelphia Map<\/a>). <small class=\"inline-block\">A photo ID is required to rent these boats; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.<\/small><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>Activities on the Pennsylvania side will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and <strong>PWD Commissioner Randy\u00a0Hayman<\/strong> will join other festival organizers in welcoming visitors with remarks and a &#8220;Tap Water Toast&#8221; outside of the Independence Seaport Museum at 11 a.m. The museum is located on the waterfront at the base of the Walnut Street Bridge.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#39;s event will also partner with the Camden Jam Music Festival at Wiggin&#39;s Park!
