{"id":86,"date":"2018-12-27T15:55:00","date_gmt":"2018-12-27T20:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/water.phila.gov\/blog\/resilience-project-12-18\/"},"modified":"2022-12-03T11:46:32","modified_gmt":"2022-12-03T16:46:32","slug":"resilience-project-12-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/water.phila.gov\/blog\/resilience-project-12-18\/","title":{"rendered":"Resilience Project Cleanup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"big\">On Saturday, December 8, Philadelphia Water Department employees, including Commissioner Debra McCarty, pitched in for a &#39;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.phila.gov\/2018-10-19-the-philadelphia-resilience-project-our-response-to-the-opioid-crisis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philadelphia Resilience Project<\/a>&#39; event in Kensington.<\/p>\n<div class=\"caption\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/static\/deb_at_krp.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>PWD employees (from left to right) Lindsey\u00a0Adams, Nicole\u00a0Charlton, Dawn\u00a0Mason, Brendan\u00a0(&#038;\u00a0Emma)\u00a0Reilly, Debbie\u00a0McCarty, team\u00a0leader\u00a0Jim\u00a0Golembeski, Ed\u00a0Borges, Colleen\u00a0McCaffrey, and Eric\u00a0Funchess volunteered for the Kensington\u00a0Resilience\u00a0Project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Launched <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phila.gov\/ExecutiveOrders\/Executive Orders\/eo99318.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">following an order<\/a> from Mayor Jim Kenney in October, the Resilience Project is the City\u2019s \u201cunified response to combating the opioid crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The special cleanup was the second large-scale effort of its kind in the last two months and featured City employees volunteering alongside community members in Kensington to pick up trash and litter, clean vacant lots, remove graffiti, and provide other services aimed at improving the quality of life in the neighborhood.
