Click here to take the survey!\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/static\/email-header_eng_190131.png\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p class=\"big\">As part of ongoing efforts to improve our work and better understand the needs of customers, we are conducting the 4th annual\u00a0Philadelphia Water Department <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/phillyh2o.info\/css-blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">comprehensive customer survey<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Made possible through a partnership with the University of Pennsylvania, the <a href=\"https:\/\/phillyh2o.info\/css-blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2019 Customer Survey<\/a>\u2014available in Spanish and English\u2014measures public opinion and allows the department to gauge what people in Philadelphia think about <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/water.phila.gov\">PWD<\/a><\/strong> and the services we provide.<\/p>\n<p>By participating in this survey, our customers can provide really valuable input on the wide range of services we provide. And when you let us know how we are doing, we take that seriously and use the info to improve.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Survey instructions have been included in a flyer sent along with February 2019 water bills.<\/li>\n<li>The survey takes <strong>less than five<\/strong> minutes to complete!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Any customer over 18 is eligible<\/strong> to take the survey.<\/li>\n<li>Customers&#39; answers and personal information will be kept <strong>completely confidential<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Participants will automatically enter a raffle to win one of many $100 gift cards.<\/li>\n<li>The survey is also available in Spanish.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"callout accentblue-bg black center\">The survey can be accessed <a class=\"strong\" href=\"https:\/\/upenn.co1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_etgTwwqPgFtYCZn?Source=blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online here<\/a> or by <span class=\"inline-block\">texting @WATER to 39242.<\/span><\/div>\n<p>Topics we are evaluating include general perceptions of PWD, drinking water habits, infrastructure awareness and perceptions, communications preferences, water quality, and the bill paying process. The University of Pennsylvania will analyze the data and prepare a report for PWD.<\/p>\n<p>While we have long welcomed and applied feedback from residents, this survey will help us use customer opinions to prioritize and improve services and customer interactions across the board. We have used findings from previous surveys to improve communication with customers.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAs a department, we put a tremendous amount of work into ensuring our customers have around-the-clock access to top-quality water, protecting our waterways and managing water from storms,\u201d <span class=\"light medgray\">says PWD Commissioner Debra\u00a0McCarty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know that delivering these essential services is incredibly important to the health of our city, and the goal of this survey is to check in with our customers and get a sense of how the work we do is being perceived and what we can do to improve.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In serving Philadelphia&#39;s more than 1.5 million residents, PWD is responsible for the operation and maintenance of three drinking water treatment plants, three wastewater treatment plants, more than 6,000 miles of water mains and sewers, 72,000 inlets, 25,000 fire hydrants and various pumping stations throughout the city.<\/p>\n<p>The department also manages stormwater through <a href=\"http:\/\/phillywatersheds.org\/what_were_doing\/documents_and_data\/cso_long_term_control_plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Green City, Clean Waters<\/a> green infrastructure investments and converts wastewater into fertilizer and renewable fuels at our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phila.gov\/water\/PDF\/BioSolids.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biosolids Recycling Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h5><a class=\"btn btn-lg btn-primary white bold\" href=\"https:\/\/upenn.co1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_etgTwwqPgFtYCZn?Source=blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TAKE THE SURVEY<\/a><\/h5>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As part of ongoing efforts to improve our work and better understand your needs, we are conducting a comprehensive survey just for our customers.
