PWD Stormwater Regulations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) Stormwater Regulations (Stormwater Regulations), presented in Appendix&nbsp;C, have been developed in accordance with <a href=\"https:\/\/codelibrary.amlegal.com\/codes\/philadelphia\/latest\/philadelphia_pa\/0-0-0-203439\">Philadelphia Code \u00a714-704(3)<\/a>, and they consist of four major Post\u2011Construction Stormwater Management Requirements: Water Quality, Channel Protection, Flood Control, and Public Health and Safety Release Rate. In addition, all earth disturbance activity must comply with the Erosion and Sediment Control requirements of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, as specified in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dep.pa.gov\/Business\/Water\/CleanWater\/StormwaterMgmt\/Stormwater%20Construction\/Documents\/025_0102.pdf?Mobile=1&amp;Source=%2FBusiness%2FWater%2FCleanWater%2FStormwaterMgmt%2FStormwater%20Construction%2F_layouts%2Fmobile%2Fdispform.aspx%3FList%3D3410853f-0390-4a35-bedc-bbdc3c7e7b3f%26View%3D48587e7e-e442-4559-bbdf-9534ba0aba5e%26ID%3D8%26CurrentPage%3D1\">25 Pa. Code \u00a7102.4<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The objectives of these requirements include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reduce pollution in runoff<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recharge the groundwater table and increase stream base flows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Restore more natural site hydrology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce combined sewer overflows (CSOs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce the quantity, frequency and duration of CSOs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protect stream channels and banks, fish habitat and infrastructure from erosion and sedimentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce or prevent flooding in areas downstream of development sites<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The details of the Stormwater Regulations can be found within&nbsp;<em>Chapter&nbsp;6: Stormwater<\/em>&nbsp;of the <a href=\"https:\/\/water.phila.gov\/regulations\/\">PWD Regulations<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/water.phila.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/files\/pwd-regulations-chapter-6.pdf\"><em>Chapter&nbsp;6: Stormwater<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) Stormwater Regulations (Stormwater Regulations), presented in Appendix&nbsp;C, have been developed in accordance with Philadelphia Code \u00a714-704(3), and they consist of four major Post\u2011Construction Stormwater Management Requirements: Water Quality, Channel Protection, Flood Control, and Public Health and Safety Release Rate.
