Overview

Project #41177 is an emergency construction project that will replace the broken water main at S. 6th St and Bainbridge St in the Queen Village neighborhood.

Construction for emergency water main and sewer restoration, as well as the sidewalks, roadway, and ADA ramps, will begin Monday, October 4.

We anticipate all work, including partner utilities', will be done in this intersection with the roadway back open to traffic in approximately 6 months. We will provide updates throughout the process if estimations change.

Virtual Community Meeting

The Philadelphia Water Department will host a virtual community meeting on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021, from 6:30-8:00 PM.

The meeting will cover:

  • What work has been done at the water main break at 6th and Bainbridge Streets
  • What our next steps are
  • Expectations for how long the work will take to complete
  • Updates from other utilities,  City Commerce Department, and Risk Management

During the meeting, attendees can post your questions in the chat, and relevant questions  will be answered.  Questions that focus on an individual’s needs will be addressed separately after the meeting.
