Celebrate the re-introduction of fresh water to the Manayunk Canal for the first time in over 75 years! Join us to learn about the water quality improvements, speak with local partners for the project, and watch a mussel presentation from PWD Scientists.

The Community event begins at 11 a.m., with speakers and presentations starting at 11:30 am. Educational tables, activities, and refreshments will be in the lobby and by the Canal.

  • 11:00 a.m. – Event starts
  • 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. – Presentations in the theater
  • 12:30–2:00 p.m. – Tabling & refreshments
  • 1:00 p.m. – Ceremonial ribbon cutting on Lock St Bridge.

A small gate opening ceremony will take place at the nearby site of the Flat Rock Dam.
