4th Street is currently closed between Norris and Berks until further notice.

Seven occupied homes have been identified as having water in the basements. Cleaning companies are currently on-site pumping out these basements.

Several unoccupied homes have water in the basements, and we are working with the developers to access these properties.

The break has been isolated and the water main shut down. Crews are currently on-site, clearing the break site and assessing any flooded properties.

At approximately 6:45 a.m., PWD crews responded to a water main break on a 20-inch pipe at 4th and Hewson St in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.
