We want to hear from Point Breeze residents as we explore plans to turn two vacant lots into green space that will make Philly's rivers cleaner.

You’re invited! Join Philadelphia Water and Councilman Kenyatta Johnson’s office to discuss plans for rain gardens on two publicly owned vacant lots in Point Breeze. Rain gardens are specially designed gardens that soak up stormwater when it rains.

The lots are 1900 Point Breeze Avenue and 1701 S. Ringgold Street. When the project is finished, Philadelphia Water will maintain the gardens. Join us to learn more about the project and provide your feedback. Refreshments will be served.

Date: Tuesday, January 19th (rain or shine)

Time: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM Meeting

Location: Church of the Redeemer Baptist Education Center 2421 Dickinson Street

This project is part of Philadelphia’s Green City, Clean Waters program which works to improve the health of our local rivers. By planting trees and plants that soak up water when it rains, and by storing rain water underground, we can help keep our rivers and streams clean.
