The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) employs temporary student employees in a variety of capacities. These student employees are sourced either in partnership with colleges and universities or through direct recruitment with the students themselves.
Student employees provide valuable support to our permanent civil service workforce. In exchange, PWD seeks to provide these students with a valuable internship experience – one that provides meaningful work in line with their course of study.
Internship periods can last from 1 month up to 1 year for undergraduate and high school students, and up to 2 years for graduate students. We have both part-time and full-time opportunities and supervisors are willing to work around students’ class schedules.
