Two PWD employees examine the plants in a green stormwater management tool. One has short, light brown hair, wears a black face mask and a vibrant safety yellow Green Stormwater Operations team t-shirt. The other has long dark hair pulled back into a ponytail, wears sunglasses, a black face mask with white diagonal stripes, and a blue polo with the old PWD logo embroidered on the chest. Both are wearing blue jeans and hold notebooks, as the one in the blue polo leans over to point at something. The camera is held low among the plants so some grasses and other plants are out of focus in the foreground.

A glimpse into the Philadelphia Water Department Contact Center: pairs of computer monitors on movable arms peek above low cubicle walls. In one of the nearest cubes, a representative with short brown hair, glasses, a bit of a five-o-clock shadow, and a headset looks at a monitor. Others are partially visible, though out of focus, in the distance, against a backdrop of glass-walled offices and a conference room, and one side wall painted dark blue.

Civil Service

Full-time opportunities with PWD are part of the City of Philadelphia’s Civil Service. Applications must be submitted through the City’s central Office of Human Resources.

Jasmine started at PWD as an Apprentice in the Safety unit. She is pictured here with a big smile, holding the brim of a yellow hard hat worn over her pulled-back dark hair. She is wearing a neon yellow-green safety vest over a white t-shirt and standing in front of a concrete block wall mostly painted tan (the top row visible is painted white).
