Overview

The Philadelphia Water Department will be starting work on project #41173 for sewer pipe restoration on the 6100 block of Elmwood Avenue (S.R. 3021).

The project is taking place because the sewer on this block has caved in, and there is a high potential for additional cave ins along the sewer due to its vulnerability.

The Department is moving quickly on this emergency job to prevent any damage to homes or potential for additional roadway damage with possible cave ins, or other issues related to the condition of the sewer. As a result of this work, the trolley service along Elmwood Ave will be suspended until this work is complete, and residents should check with SEPTA for detour information.
