Liberty Lands GSI

Overview

Project #50011 Liberty Lands GSI installed green stormwater management infrastructure in Liberty Lands Park. Subsurface storage was built in the southwest corner of the park in 2015.

PWD determined this privately-owned park as the perfect location for the implementation of stormwater management practices in 2007. And with the help of many local community partners, PWD was able to construct a rain garden detention pond that collects runoff from the site as well as from the adjacent streets.

This is a Green City, Clean Waters project. These projects reduce pollution from stormwater and combined sewer overflows in Philadelphia.
