Overview

Project #50105 (Francis Myers Rec Center) will implement green infrastructure to improve the stormwater management of the Kingsessing neighborhood. This is part of the overall Green Infrastructure Initiative implemented by City of Philadelphia called Green City, Clean Waters.Due to contractor delays and the COVID-19 pandemic construction pause, work did not begin until July 2020.

  • Kingsessing Ave from Cemetery Ave to 58th St
  • 61st St from Regent St to Kingsessing Ave
  • 59th St from Kingsessing Ave to Greenway Ave
  • Greenway Ave from 58th St to 54th St

Construction Resumed

Following Governor Tom Wolf’s announcement that construction activities across the state would be allowed to resume, work for this project was able to resume.

This resumption follows a construction freeze of all non-emergency work that was put in place on March 20, 2020.
