PWD 29th St. Field Operations Headquarters Replacement

Overview

This project replaces the Philadelphia Water Department’s Field Operations Headquarters at 29th Street and Cambria Street. This 100-year-old campus is our largest site for staff, vehicles, and field operations.

The facility supports maintenance, emergency response, and infrastructure work across Philadelphia.

We will modernize the 16.5-acre site to improve daily operations The project will improve site traffic, material storage, and campus efficiency. Also included are enhancements to support employee well-being and long-term operational needs. These changes will make field operations smoother and more responsive to community needs.

Why are we doing this project?

The current headquarters no longer meets today’s needs. The rehabbed essential hub will support field staff and strengthen citywide water services. This project is part our effort to ensure our teams can deliver reliable service every day.
