East Oak Lane, North Philadelphia
East Oak Lane Reservoir and Pump Station Upgrades
Current Phase: Planning
Overview
This project includes building new water storage tanks and a new pump station at the East Oak Lane Reservoir site.
- Storage tanks hold clean, treated water until it’s needed. They help maintain steady water pressure across Philadelphia.
- Pump stations help move drinking water through the system. Essential equipment, including pumps, pipes, and electrical systems, keep water flowing across the city.
Planning is currently underway to replace the aging tanks and pumps with modern infrastructure. These improvements will strengthen the water system’s reliability and help keep water pressure consistent for years to come.
Why we’re doing this project:
The current tanks and pump station have served East Oak Lane Reservoir for many decades. While they’ve performed well, they’re nearing the end of their useful life.
By upgrading now, we’re:
- Replacing aging infrastructure
- Adding extra protection to the system
- Lowering long-term maintenance costs
- Improving site access to ease future maintenance
- Ensuring that clean, reliable water continues to reach homes and businesses every day.
