Lardner's Point Pump Station Replacement

Current Phase:

Start:

Late 2025

Completion:

Mid 2034

Overview

Lardner’s Point Pump Station Replacement is a pump station project. Pump stations house pumps, pipes, valves, and electrical equipment. This equipment moves water through our system. This equipment also helps provide reliable drinking water service and pressure to customers.

Lardner’s Point Pumping Station provides over 30% of Philadelphia’s water supply. Many of its pumps and systems have reached the end of their useful life. This project includes the construction of a sustainable, multi-use facility.

The facility will include a new pumping station, with new yard piping and transmission mains. We will create a new green stormwater operations facility. We plan to reuse the historic pump station structure.

These upgrades will improve reliability of service pressure. New equipment will reduce the need for maintenance.
