Ford Road Pump Station Upgrades
Overview
We are upgrading the wastewater pump station located at 3900 W Ford Road in the Wynnefield Heights neighborhood. The pump station pumps wastewater from homes and businesses in Wynnefield Heights to a wastewater treatment plant where it is made clean before entering the river.
The project includes upgrades to the pumps, pipes, and valves to improve the reliability of the equipment and make for easier maintenance. A new building is being constructed to house the equipment.
It also includes installing new electrical equipment, including replacing the emergency backup generator with a new one to ensure the pump station cna continue working in the event of a power outage. New fencing is being installed around the new emergency generator for security purposes.
These upgrades make our wastewater system more resilient for the future by modernizing the pump station with new equipment and technologies.
During construction, an assigned PWD inspector and engineer will be on-site and can answer questions about the work.
