Queen Lane Lagoon Clearing
Overview
This two-part project prepares us for future work at the Queen Lane Water Treatment Plant. The Queen Lane Water Treatment Plant treats millions of gallons of water every day. It treats the water to make it clean and safe to drink before it reaches your tap.
1. Site Clearing in the Queen Lane Lagoon area
We are clearing the area called the Queen Lane Lagoon at 3545 Fox Street. Clearing the site will remove materials from previous plant operations, as well as plants and trees. This is needed to make room for new facilities.
2. Removal of Accumulated Sediment
The raw water basin acts as a reservoir, collecting water from the Schuylkill River before treatment. Over time, river sediments and debris accumulate at the bottom of the basin and require removal. Cleaning out these sediments will help us prepare for future treatment applications.
