Water Pressure Issue Update – 3300 block of Midvale Ave
Water Pressure Issue Update – 3300 block of Midvale Ave | Project #20481
On Friday, December 30, PWD received notice that water pressure was low/off for many residents along the 3300 and 3400 blocks of Midvale Ave in East Falls. This was in relation to water main replacement project #20481.
A PWD valve crew visited the block on Friday evening, and informed the project inspector all valves were checked and were in an open position, which would allow water flow. With this information, the project inspector felt the issue was resolved.
On Tuesday, January 3, upon receiving more notices from residents of lack of water, the project’s contractor investigated further and found one line valve at Vaux St & Coulter St. in the closed position. This valve was never used by our contractor for any tie-in or test shutdown, and should not have been closed.
Once re-opened, the water pressure was restored to 3300 & 3400 blocks of Midvale. All water pressure issues have now been resolved. All residents were directly communicated with to assure water was restored.
