Overview

GSI project #50211 Mifflin Square is part of the overall Green Infrastructure Initiative, implemented by City of Philadelphia to improve the stormwater management. The work will be done in Mifflin Square Park.

June 5, 2021 – PWD attends Mifflin Square Vendor Village

PWD attends Mifflin Square Vendor Village, in order to:
1. Share updates on construction
2. Answer questions community members may have
3. Provide factsheets and giveaways to event attendees

February 15, 2021 – Construction began

Construction began at 6th and Wolf Streets.

January 20, 2021 – Construction update sent to involved RCOs

Connection with Joel Arnold from SEAMAAC, key partner in 50211 project. The group is providing customized pavers in the corner of the park, and is a vital partner in the area for sharing important info to community orgs and those who need translation services.

Sent general project information, answered questions, and shared maps and information on translations, all to be shared with larger community.

January 19, 2021 – Nextdoor post for project

January 14, 2021 – Construction letter sent to residents

Sent letter with Vietnamese translation option to community.

March 13, 2020 – Bid letter sent to residents

Many technical questions about design and discussion regarding SEAMAAC’s plans for private funding and addition to project.
