PWD Development Services Newsletter – Stormwater Grants submission deadline 3/20
*** Stormwater Grants 2026 spring cycle submission deadline is tomorrow, March 20 ***
Dear Reader:
This Friday, March 20 is the deadline to submit Stormwater Grants applications for the spring 2026 cycle. Applications may be submitted via PWD’s “Apply for a Stormwater Grant” webpage until 11:59 PM tomorrow.
Not going to meet tomorrow’s deadline? Not a problem, PWD offers two opportunities to submit applications each year, with the fall 2026 cycle beginning in August. The window to request an obligatory “pre-application” meeting—to discuss your project—opens August 1 and runs through September 15. Application submission deadline for the fall cycle is October 16.
What is a “Stormwater Grant?”
Stormwater Grants can pay for the design and construction of stormwater retrofit projects on non-residential properties in Philadelphia. Stormwater retrofit projects provide an opportunity to add new landscaping, fix drainage problems, and improve the appearance of a property.
If you are considering a Stormwater Grants application, be sure to review PWD’s Stormwater Grants Application Guide. This resource explains property eligibility for grants, how to develop a project team, and all application requirements. And if you are definitely pursuing a retrofit for your property, we suggest creating an account on the Stormwater Connect platform (it’s free!) as your first step.
Want more information? Last year, Development Services hosted a webinar devoted to Stormwater Grants, an overview that included details on the program’s application process. Readers who were unable to attend or wish to revisit the presentation may use this link to access the recording.
